MOSTAR, Bosnia-Herzegovina -- A bridge that came to symbolize the senseless brutality of the Bosnian war takes its place Saturday on the United Nation's list of protected World Heritage Sites.
Built during the Ottoman Empire, the stone bridge known as Stari Most - or Old Bridge - survived centuries of conflict before shells shattered it during the ethnic battles of 1993."
