There are many Turkish resources for foreign women living in Turkey and a plethora of opportunities to join Turkish "women power". A number of grass roots women's organizations and NGOs, as well as associations have sprung up in the last few years providing support for women, whether they are career women or others trying to make ends meet in poorer areas of the country. One organization, Flying Broom (Uçan Süpürge), offers opportunities for foreign and local women alike to gain a voice in Turkish society. Ankara-based Flying Broom is one of the better known organizations among women and works for the improvement of democracy and civil society. It enhances gender equality by providing information and training to empower women and contributing to the development of efficient policies aimed at solving women's problems stemming from inequality."
