"It’s nothing personal
By Jean Christou
A POLL this week revealed that a majority of Greek Cypriots were not in favour of living with their Turkish Cypriot brothers. In fact, the number who did had dropped significantly since 2003, from an overall 67 per cent to 45 per cent at the most recent count.
The 35-55 age group, those who may have clear memories of the 1974 invasion were split almost 50-50, while only those over 55 were in a majority when it came to the idea of living together.
Most significantly, the polls showed that 63 per cent of 18-24 year olds and 59 per cent of 25-34 year olds, two age groups that never in fact lived with Turkish Cypriots, were most against the idea."
