Facing a March 31 deadline, Turkey and the United States are inching toward sealing a government-to-government contract for the upgrade of 80 Turkish F-16 fighter jets, government officials and industry sources said.
A Turkish procurement official said the deal would be inked before March 31, when a U.S. proposal for the upgrade program expires.
“Talks are progressing positively, with the last remaining technical details under discussion,” the official said. “Both sides aim to finalize the deal before the [March 31] deadline.” "
